What is the Klimabonus Grant for Charging Stations?

Since January 2026, the Klimabonus Wunnen program has replaced the former PRIMe House. It offers financial support for installing electric vehicle charging stations. Specifically, the grant reimburses 50% of the total cost (purchase and installation) of the station, up to €1,200 per station. You can benefit from this aid for a maximum of two stations per home, giving a potential subsidy of €2,400.

Who is eligible?

4. Wait for the eligibility decision (usually within 4 weeks). Once approved, you can carry out the work.
5. After installation, submit the paid invoice and the electrical conformity certificate (issued by the installer).
6. The reimbursement is made within 8 to 12 weeks to your bank account.

Amounts and caps

Can it be combined with other aid?

Yes, the Klimabonus grant is cumulative with other aid, including:

• Municipal grants: some communes offer a supplement (e.g., €200 to €500).
• Klimabonus loan: a zero-interest loan to finance the remaining cost.
• Super-reduced VAT rate of 3% on installation work (applicable if the home is over 2 years old).

Note: the total combined aid must not exceed 100% of the total cost. In practice, this threshold is rarely reached.

Consider a homeowner installing a charging station at home. The total cost (station + installation) is €2,200. The Klimabonus grant reimburses 50%, i.e., €1,100 (within the €1,200 cap).
