Frequently asked questions
The Klimabonus Wunnen 2026 subsidises up to 50% of roof insulation costs, with a maximum of €15,000. For certified ecological materials (cellulose wool, wood fibre), an additional bonus of +€55/m² applies. Enoprimes add a further €10–15/m². VAT is reduced to 3%.
Yes, completely. PRIMe House was replaced by Klimabonus Wunnen on 4 January 2026. The new scheme offers flat-rate amounts in €/m² and bonuses for ecological materials. Prior approval via MyGuichet.lu is mandatory before work begins.
R ≥ 7 m²K/W is recommended for open lofts (equivalent to 28 cm of glass wool or 16 cm of PIR boards). R ≥ 6 is required for pitched and flat roofs. These levels exceed legal minimums and maximise Klimabonus eligibility.
For sarking (pitched roof), Recticel Euroroof and Unilin Utherm Sarking (λ=0.022 W/m.K) offer the best performance per centimetre. For blown loft insulation, Isofloc or Knauf Supafil cellulose wool is ideal (ecological material = +€55/m² Klimabonus bonus). Rockwool and Isover lead the standard mineral wool segment.
Prices vary by type: blown loft insulation €20–50/m², PIR sarking €100–180/m², interior insulation €40–80/m². After Klimabonus (up to 50% of costs, maximum €15,000), the net cost is roughly halved. Luxembourg prices are 15–25% higher than in Belgium.
